Handmade to perfection
All our koodais are handknotted to perfection. We work with artisans, heritage weavers who have been making koodais for decades together. Koodais, like sarees have always been there in different parts of India, especially in the Southern parts of India. Wire Kadai works with work with the community of weavers and create a collective, to ensure there is dignity of labour, there is pride in every single thing we make and sell.
Koodai Collective
Wire Kadai works with passionate heritage weavers from marginalised backgrounds and supports weavers with disabilities. This is an empowerment initiative which aims to revive the art of weaving, thereby creating employment opportunities and a sustainable income to these artisans. We pay fair wages, upskill these weavers on new techniques.
